If you’re working on a vintage off-road vehicle like a Land Rover Series I, II or III, the Avon Traction Mileage tire is a perfect fit. This example is offered in 700-16, an exact size used on many classic 4×4 trucks. This particular tire is authentic for the long wheelbase Land Rover , but looks great on classic Chevy, Ford or Dodge pickups as an aggressive all terrain style tire. Compared to modern radials, these tires feature a narrow tread pattern, which not only looks authentic, but also provides much lighter steering feel so that you’re not arm wrestling your steering wheel at parking lot speed. The original equipment Land Rover Series tyre, fitted from mid-1949. This is THE tyre for your Series Land Rover. The best combination of on and off-road grip and a tread pattern that looks perfect on Series I to III. This creates a strong tire, but bias ply tires have a tendency to follow breaks or ruts in the pavement.
